2002 Chevrolet Silverado Power steering

what do you mean by power steering? gear box,rack and pinion,pump,hose,fluid,sensor,ect.need more info to help you.

Replaced the power steering pump I'm sorry, worked for a second then stopped, now no brakes either

I didn't disconnect the battery either I forgot to.

there is no need to unhook the battery,what was the reason you replaced the pump? are you sure you didn't put p.s. fluid in the master cylinder?

I put power steering fluid in the pump, two years ago the power steering pump went out and the brakes too, I replaced it with a remanufactured pump the steering and brakes worked until recently. So I changed the pump and went to bleed it and the steering and brakes went out.

are you loosing any brake fluid? or p/s fluid?

I lost my power steering then the brakes went out also this happened two years ago, so I replaced the power steering pump with a remanufactured pump and it worked and my brakes too. Now my power steering was leading so replaced it and it worked for a second and quit. The power steering and matter brake cylinder work together check out a newer Chevy first you'll see.

oh, I believe you. I am just not sure where to go to at this point.this type of simultaneous dual failure is very hard to diagnose over the web.
