2002 2500hd 6.0L V8 165,000miles. truck starts then quits blowing the ECMB fuse and the fuel gauge shows E. i think it may be my fuel pump, because it has been grinding lately. how do i check?

I recommend removing the fuel pump and testing it for operation. Disconnect it first to see if the fuse still blows. If it does, the problem is before the fuse. If it doesn't blow, the pump is most likely the problem.
