I have a chevy silverado 2002. The warning light for the battery came on. I got to my apartment complex and my truck wouldnt turn back on. I got someone to jump it and it started but the gages werent going up and my radio wasnt on, it was like my truck was not running but it really was. When we got it jumped i took it for a ride and stopped at a stop light and my truck shut off. What could be the problem?

DO YOU HAVE A VOLTMETER?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dq24oPUVmdA

YOU CAN TEST FOR VOLTAGE WITH A VOLTMETER---MORE THOROUGH TESTING OF YOU BATTERY AND CHARGING SYSTEM CAN BE DONE AT AN AUTO PARTS STORE AND IT'S USUALLY FREE OF CHARGE

AS FAR AS THE "HECTIC" INSTRUMENT PANEL

WHEN YOUR VOLTAGE DROPS, THE COMPUTER STARTS GOING CRAZY

JUMPING OR CHARGING THE BATTERY WILL NOT FIX THIS ISSUE "ON VEHICLE"

THE BATTERY MUST BE FULLY DISCONNECTED AND WAIT ABOUT 5-10 MINUTES

.......THEN INSTALL A FULLY RECHARGED GOOD BATTERY OR A NEW ONE

IF THE BATTERY IS GOOD AND THE "GOOD" ALTERNATOR IS NOT CHARGING THE BATTERY (FUSES, FUSIBLE LINK, OR WIRING ISSUE)---OR THE ALTERNATOR IS JUST DEFECTIVE

LOOK AT YOUR CONNECTIONS, A DIRTY OR LOOSE ONE MIGHT PREVENT THE BATTERY FROM RECEIVING A CHARGE

......MR BATTERY WILL DIE OUT AGAIN AND YOU WILL SUFFER THE SAME SYMPTOMS

LET ME KNOW HOW IT'S GOING...ANSWERING WITHOUT GETTING A RESPONSE IS LIKE MISSING THE LAST EPISODE OF A SOAP OPERA!

DO YOUR TESTING, BEFORE YOU START THROWING PARTS AT IT, YOU'LL SAVE $$$ AND GRIEF!
