I have a chevy 2002 S-10 directional heat selection, this meaning coming out from the defrost, vents and the floor at the same time. I have looked at the Actuators an seem to respond to the selector switch on the dash, I also have have an engine light on. I have been told a couple diffren't times the engine light was on because of a code set for a HVAC problem. Would this be the problem with my heating situation?

Have the engine scanned if the light is on, try pulling the fuse on the hvac and see if your problem straightens out. Leave it out for about 30 seconds or so.

If that didin't help and the actuators are getting ower then one of them is bad. I won't send a diagram as you have checked them and already know where they are. You might check to move them by hand tosee which one it is, but it's probably the innermost towards the center of thedash. You might have to pull the hvac to fix it wheich would mean pulling hte dash as well.
