The heater in my car blows cold when I try to warm it up before I drive it. But it does not overheat. Could it still be the thermostat? After I drive it and the heater starts blowing warm, the temperature will go up to the halfway mark if it is idleing.

Check both your heater hoses when it's warm for them to be hot. There are actuators that control where the air goes so they may not be working. They are either vacuum or electric. I'll send a GENERIC picture of a heater so you will get an idea of wher they are located.
