I have a 2002 Chevy Malibu. The issues iv been having has been with my mass airflow sensor. It all started one night when I was on my way home I slowed down for a stop sign got to around 10mph and the car just stalled right their, it has hesitation and the rpms jumped and it just plugged out. After that for about two days it just kept doing it, sometimes it would sometimes it wouldnt it had a mind of its own. FINALLY the check engine light came on and I could see WTF was going on with this POS. Turns out it was the mass airflow sensor, got it shipped out and replaced it. Ran GREAT for about two weeks then same **** started happening again. Two days later check engine light. Mass airflow sensor. Alright so now im pretty ****ed. Sent the sensor I just got from carquest back and they sent a another one for free, seeing as though the one I got was a corrupt one I figured it was just bad luck. Put now for the second time a second mass airflow sensor in. Now today. The problem persists. I changed the air filter which was very clean and didnt even need changing. I checked everything up and down and the check engine light came on in one day this time. Once again mass airflow sensor. Im out of options and I dont think id get a bad sensor two times in a row, their has to be something else going on with this pos besides bad luck. I have no more answers for this car. The car hasnt started the stage of stalling yet but when its in park the engine really pluggs hard to keep running. Bounces from 300rpm to 500rpm non stop. Exhaust also sounds like **** on top of that and has a bit of a weird smell to it like co2 or something. If anyone has an answer for me id greatly appreciate it.

Check the vacuum on the intake, if it's 15" or under check for a clogged converter. They are warrantied for 80,000 miles. Also check your connections at maf and pcm. If it'a bad connection it will cause this. This could also bea bad pcm as well. One other thing take choke cleaner an dclean throttle plate on both sides and iac hole. They gum up an dcause stalling as well although I don't think that is what it is. Make sure there are no holes in teh duct owrk or other hoses as this will do the same thing.
