I had to park my 2002, Chevy, Malibu for a day while I went out to get a new battery. While the car was sitting the front passenger tire locked up completely. I had my fiance and our neighbor, who worked on semi trucks, look at the brake pads and such. They said the brake pads are working correctly and we are all stumped as to what is causing the tire to not move. I am totally willing to do the work myself I just have no idea what work needs to be done. Please help.

Just so I understand you correctly, when you put the car in DRIVE, the car will not move? Does the car lurch forward while the right front stay immobile? Any further information that you could provide would be helpful.

The other tires work fine except the front passenger. When I put it in drive all of the other tires work perfect. The front passenger tire won't move and it leaves a black skid mark on my garage floor.

If the brakes on that side are working normally, the problem may lie in the final drive (differential) of your transaxle. My recommendation would disassemble and verify that the brakes are not bound on that side. If they are free and working normally, you may want to consider bringing it to a reputable transmission shop for further diagnosis.

If I do need to get it to a shop will driving on the tire while it's locked up affect it in a bad manner? I have the front of the car facing the back of the garage and would need to pull onto the road and turn around to get it towed.
