I have a P-0440 engine code for the evap system. I have replaced the gas cap with a new locking one and in one of the answers on this site for the same problem you indicated that it could be a malfunctioning vent valve. What is this and where is it located so that I can replace and get this code out of the system.

thank you

The vent valve is what the evap system uses to close off the evap system so the computer and check for leaks. Its right by the fuel filler neck.I would follow the trouble tree instead of just replacing parts. Some of those locking gas caps i have seen cause evap codes.
