If i start the car and put it straight in gear w/o waiting it will move in the drive way sometimes a little further when its cold and hasnt been started in a while or if u change gears then it wont engage but i can turn it off set a sec and start it and throw in gear and it will move again

Have it scanned for hard and soft codes. Check the fluid level and condition. You want a red or pink color. You don't want it to smell nasty. Also check the fluid pressure when running.
