You do have anti-lock brakes because traction control is an option that is added onto the ABS system and makes use of it.
GM has a lot of trouble with their front wheel bearings. They develop a little play, which is normal, but their wheel speed sensors develop pretty wimpy signals to begin with, then that play can let the sensor move away from the tone ring. That results in signal "drop-out", particularly at low speeds when signals get weaker anyway, and that causes false ABS activation when it's not needed. This problem can occur to a new bearing in as little as 15,000 miles.
The funny thing we found, at least this was true five years ago, is it's the same wheel bearing with or without ABS, but the bearing WITH the built-in sensor costs less than the same bearing without the sensor. Go figure. That means you can save money by buying the bearing for your model with ABS, then if your car doesn't have ABS, just don't plug the sensor in.
