security light flashing

2002 Chevy Express has intermittent problem of Security light flashing and the van won't start. The key is difficult to get in ignition also. I can wait 10 min then retry and usually it will start. I'm concerned that the day will come when it won't start. Any ideas on fixing this issue once and for all?

Sounds like you have two issues the key hard to get into the ignition which could be a bad key and or bad ignition cylinder.As far as the security light being on and not being able to start the car you would have to get your body control module scanned for codes and start there.
