My 2002 4 door Cavalier LS has an electrical shortage. When I am driving all my gauges drop. When I put it in park, they sometimes will go back up. While I am driving, my heat doesn`t blow like it should and my headlights are very dim. My radio turns off and then comes back on. Any suggestions on what it is exactly? Is there anything I can fix with instruction?

Since so many items are affected, I feel that either you have a bad alternator, bad connection to the battery, or there is a bad ground. I recommend checking the battery terminals first. Make sure they are tight and clean. Next, check the main ground to the engine block to make sure it is tight and clean. Have the alternator checked at a parts store. Most do it for free. After that, check body ground straps to make sure they are tight, clean, and not rusted.
