I need to replace crankshaft sensor

how do i get a crankshaft sensor out of a 02 cavalier 2.2 overhead valve engine that has broke off in the back of the engine? can i get to it by removing the oil pan? its a tight place between the firewall and engine any suggestions are appreciated thank you....
