center brake light won't work

try to change the little bulb but it stays on all the time even if the car is off

the brake light switch is at the top of the brake pedal. Check to see if it is out of adjustment or stuck. However, if only the 3rd brake light is staying on, that doesn't make sense. If it is on all the time, check for a short to power. Basically, trace the wire to see if it has shorted out against something that has power all the time.
