No such thing as "Fuel Tank Pressure Canister". What you refer to is an emissions devise (Vapor canister). When was your last tune-up? If it's been a long time, start with that.

You can try some throttle body cleaner. Sometimes a air hole inside the throttle body will get clogged with carbon causing reduced gas milage. Throttle body cleaner will help clean the carbon off.
