2002 Cadillac Escalade Ext 02 Caddy Been Finishing Oil Having Light Turn On

i have an 02 ext caddy and it has been finishing it oil and having the light turn on right and sure enough it does need some. it then within a day at most has the change oil light turn on, what worried me is that it needed oil earlier this time and it leaked something that looked like oil not sure i read it could be a vent plug. any ideas?

What weight oil are you using, and any external leaks should be fix first as well.
