approximately how much can it cost to have my rear brakes repaired? it sounds as if they are grinding. and the noise is coming from the rear driver side

It is all going to depend on an inspection. It could have park brake shoes that are needed. If the rotors are at minimum, or the scoring is beyond the .060 allowable, they may need replaced. I would guesstimate 350 to 750 range.
