Rendezvous underwent drive axel repairs. After picking up vehicle, noticed oil spots on the driveway directly underneath location of repair. Took the vehicle back and was told that there was a pinion seal that was damaged as well as a suspected axel seal. Technician admitted fault in not seeing that the pinion seal was comprimised before returning the vehicle and said that there would be no cost to replace the pinion seal. Also said that he suspected the axel seals on both driver and passenger sides might need replaced because (the driver's side) was most likely contributing to the leak as well. Pinion seal has been replaced. Vehicle is dripping oil from same spot at, what seems to be the same rate as before. No oil leak was present before the original drive axel repair.
Can I get away with simply refilling the resevior whenever I get oil changes or is it better to spend estimated 400 + dollars to have the seals replaced?
