My fuel gauge is stuck on empty, but the tank is full, is there a fuse for this gauge?

...when car dies suddenly, the gauges spin wildly and will sometimes get caught on the wrong side of a small plastic pin. (i.e. fuel gage, tach, etc.) This trick WORKS! Use a small magnet next to the glass (careful not to scratch). Move the magnet and it will move the gauges all way round to the CORRECT side of the plastic pin. Now start the car..and VIOLA! Problem solved. Cost involved: about 50 cents. Time involved? Less than 30 seconds
