2002 BMW 330 driver side door lock

my lock is broken and i opened tried to take a look at it.. now the door wont even CLOSE. please help. thanksin advance

The lock is probably in the "lock "position with the door open it can't latch, if the latch is closed over, hold a screwdriver against the latch and pull the handle, if the lock is ok, the pressure on the latch will spring it open.
