Why does my BMW 325i fan remains on after the engine is turned off?

The engine is cool, but the fan continues to run continuously.

what fan is staying on the heater, a/c fan or the fan in front of the radiator?

The fan was a recall, the final stage was bad on a bunch of those. (no relay guys, final stage unit)
