2001 volvo v70 xc, do I need to replace the waterpump when replacing the timing belt???

there is not requirement to do this, although, as the water pump is right there , many feel it is an ideal opportunity to change the pump just to be on the safe side, and if the pump failed some time on, you will have to strip the front down again.
