Call your local Volvo dealership to see if they are participating in Volvo Service For Life. If they are, they will diagnose your vehicle for free but there are some limitations to this. Volvo will scan for fault codes using there equipment and base on that relevant fault code may be prompted to run some sort of test to see what the results are. So pretty much they will cover the basics. If further fault tracing is required say they need to install a break out box to measure signals or need to start tearing down items, they will inform you to the cost before going any further. At minimum they should supply you the fault codes and freeze frame data to you free of charge. You can take that to your mechanic or you can have Volvo do what needs to be done or you can post it on here to see if we can help you out? Here is the link to Volvo so you can get more information. If you were on Volvo's mailing list you would have recieved this information a couple of weeks ago?
Check it out and keep me posted please. And call your local Volvo retailer first to make sure they are participating in the program?
