Engine management light on. Fault code p0010

Suspect fault in Variable Valve Timing maybe loss og oil pressure

You could have a bad turbo as well. If vehicle is not properly maintaned or you keep running it low on oil or low pressure like Docfixit mentioned earlier, the turbine seizes up inside the turbo. You would need to remove the turbo pipes to see if you can spin the turbine by hand. If you cant then that is your problem. Also check lines and verify pressure is getting to the waste gate or you could have a faulty turbo control valve or torn hose somewhere so you may need to smoke test for leaks. For your noise issue I would also have the exhaust manifold checked for leaks. The nuts work there way loose and sometimes start falling off. If this is the case I recommend replacing the exhaust manifold gaskets, exhaust studs as needed and replace all the nuts from Volvo since they have updated nuts for this. Also have the manifold checked for warpage? This repair is very expensive. Labor alone is around 5 hours for the manifold. The good thing is the turbo needs to come out for this repair so you can have the tubo checked out then also if you do the exhaust repairs? All you would need to pay for is a new turbo for the 5 hours been charged and they may charge you a little to do the some adjustments to the turbo assuming you may need a turbo?
