2001 Volvo s40 obd codes

2001 Volvo S40. Car sat 2 yrs. Cooling fan stayed on for 15 minutes when turn key off(even when cold).obd 2 code po102 maf or vaf low voltage input. Found rotten animal nest in air cleaner(strong ammonia odor).Cleaned out air cleaner,new filter,new MAF. Cleared code.Ran terrible for a minute Drove for 9 mi new code po171. Found and corrected vac leak,Replaced fuel filter,added injector cleaner. Cleared code. Drove 49mi and code po 171 returned.
The car runs great but need nys inspection and must have no codes.
Cooling fan fixed it's self when MAF replaced.

If all proper repairs have been done to correct the fuel trim problems then you will need to reset the engine control module adaptations. Using Volvos equipement would be the easiest but you can try disconnecting the engine control module connectors for 5 minutes. To get to the ECM remove the right side center console panel and under the dash you will see the ECM. Disconnect the connector. That should cause it to reset the adapaptations.
