The check engine light came on in my car. I took it to the dealer and they put it on the computer and said it was the car alarm battery. They said it should be replaced every 10 years. I have never heard of a car alarm battery. They said it is hidden in the car and they want $485 to replace it or my car will slowly shut down. Is they such a battery, and if so, where is it and is it easy to replace?

I have never heard of an alarm battery, I looked in the wiring schematic from Mitchell1 and they don't show it either, I've attached an image.

Let me know what happens ;-)
