For the last 3 years the EPC light has been coming in in my car. Ive had it to the dealer to have it fixed and yet it still comes on. They replaced the computer, and repaired the recalls. I had the throttle body replaced, vacuum lines replaced as well. It will still lose power and go between 2-5 mph, buck, and shut off. Im at a loss as to what it can be, any suggestions?

Does the car ever run properly? Has fuel pump pressure been checked?

It does for a time and then the light comes on and I'm back in the same position. The dealership claimed it was checked and was fine.

By any chance, have they given you the trouble codes they got when scanning the computer?

The main code that comes up is the mass air flow sensor, when I tried to have it replaced the car refused to start. But it did start when it was disconnected.

The idea that it didn't run at all makes me thing that you may have gotten a bad one. When you disconnect it, the computer will run the vehicle in a closed loop setting.

With the car doing that is why I was baffled. I have researched online for answers about the issues and everything I found says get rid of it. If I get a new mass air flow sensor and part, but that's not the issue, any ideas as to where to start next?

MAF codes can set due to the poor running / stalling issue... so the MAF might not even be the issue.

I have had two vehicles in the last couple of months with EPC light / stalling / starting issues... Both were solved by replacing the ECM power supply relay.

Replacing parts isn't the way to go. Have someone monitor ECM data blocks while the engine is running poorly, until the reason is determined.
