I am having a exhaust emissions warning light on

VW Golf - I had a complete new exhaust fitted 5 days ago £166. It has a 3 year guarantee. 3 days ago my exhaust emissions lamp came on. Went to the garage this morning and was told I need an EGR Valve the garage were really unhelpful The car is in very good order - I am the second owner. It has had a yearly service and I have all the receipts for this. It passed the MOT in January this year. Body work is spotless - Apparently it was garaged before I had it - body is immaculate. Hope this helps
