Check engine light is on accelerates slowly

And seems like it is starting off in 2nd gear any ideas on what might be wrong? Engine: I4 2L SOHC Transmission: auto

It sounds like it is in limp mode. Have the computer scanned to identify where the problem is coming from.

Possibly a faulty transmission speed sensor... you need to have the
ECM & TCM scanned for codes, before any REAL guesses can be made
with regards to fixing this issue.
