Jerk on cold move off Bora automatic transmission. Why? Runs well once engine at optimum temperature.

On attempting to move off with cold engine there is a hesitation then a jerk (when the gear?)and a slow move off. What is the cause? How expensive to fix?

Hows's the fluid level and condition if oaky-The transmission could be slipping, have it further checked by a transmission specialist
