Engine light came on

Engine light came on.I hooked a code reader and presses ok to delete. After this truck will not idle. What did I do?

Erasing stored codes would also clear the computer memory and the computer would need time to relearn.

The easiest way to get it idle is to clean the throttle body and IAC.
