Fuel pump doesn't energise for few seconds when turn key and car wont start, sometimes have to take battery lead off and back on to reset, and sometimes have banged the fuel tank, is it a problem with the pump or ecm.

If banging the fuel tank works, the problem is most likely to be the fuel pump. Test for battery voltage to the fuel pump and try manually applying battery voltage to it to test.
