losing power when driving

Car is losing power between 3 and 4000 revs when running. Have replaced the leads and spark plugs, oil filter and oil, fuel filter, air filter and put a fuel cleaning solution through the petrol tank but the problem is still there sometimes the car doesn't have enough power to go anywhere, am really struggling now! The car is the 1600 engine estate version.

Is the Check Engine Light indicating?

yes, just had a diagnostic check done and it appears to be the lambda sensor that is the problem but if you think it may be something else please let me know

If the MIL is indicating, the engine control might fall back to backup mode for the faulty component concerned and you would have to get the problem rectified first to check if problem goes away.
