I own a 2001 Subaru Forester B5 turbo. It got an engine knock.

Should I rebuild the old engine or should I shop for a second hand engine?

If you can do the rebuild then that would by least expensive and you would have an engine that should last many miles. With used engine don't know how it was cared for ,driven ect.
