Was sitting at light and car cut off, I cranked it and it cut off again then smoke started coming from the belt beside the washer fluid

Also my gpaw thinks it may be a problem with the air conditioner being on?

Sound's like a pulley seized up remove your belt and see if there is a pulley that won't spin.my guess is the a/c compressor seized up.Let me know what you find.

Thanks so does that mean my car will be fine if I keep the air off? Should I keep the heat off too? I put some oil in it & kept the air off on the way home & it seemed to do fine

Let's do this with the engine off see if the center of the a/c clutch turn's freely or if it's locked up?If the a/c compressor did lock up even if you have the a/c off the compressor clutch could lock up again and leave you stranded.Let me know what you find.
