2001 Saturn SL2 neutral safety switch

I can not keep continuity in the neutral safety switch. I can adjust the switch and get continuity, but then when I run the car through the gears I lose it. I have done this several times and get the same result.

if you get continuity in D4 and you shift out of D4 then back into D4 it won't show it Again that's normal.Now the switch is adjusted.

Thank you, now it seems to be shifting out of 1st gear, but the CES light is on. Is there anything else that I need to do?

what are the exact code numbers you have? did you.clear the codes with a scan tool after replacing the switch?
