My car has started hard jerking once get to 40mph and do it after it but not as hard.

So is the engine cutting out or is it the transmission?Do you have a automatic or manual transmission?Any codes in the computer?Inspect the hose from the intake manifold to the pcv in the valve cover see if its colasaped or has a hole.in it.
