2001 Rover 25 Red light it's on

I just realised on dashboard in my rover25 there is little red light between two 'clocks' showing speed km/h and second r/minx1000. Sometimes it's just flashing and sometimes it's on all the time. What does it mean?

look in your manual or see if pic matches we dont' have rover 35 in U.S. this is off a regular land rover shold be the similar
