Engine idles really high when in park. Idles down when put in gear but still is idling higher then it should be. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

I would service that throttle bore and check for vacuum leaks, here are three guides to help us fix it.

I would also swap out the idle air control valve which is on the side of the throttle body. They can get weak and not respond as well. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
