engine issue

01 pontiac montana van. i was driving it and it showed that it was heating up and lost power. i pulled over and it didnt seem like it was hot at all, but now when you start it and let it run you smell antifreeze from the exhaust. i have driven it since that day but i would like to know what is wrong so i can get it fixed

Make sure the coolant level is full. If you smell coolant from the exhaust, you may have a bad head gasket. Make sure there is no coolant mixing with the motor oil. You may have to pressure test the cooling system to see if it maintains pressure.
