This just started happening on my 2001 Firebird. When I lock the car the alarm sets and I get the standard 2 quick beeps of the horn. Now, about 5 seconds after the 2 beeps the horn blows twice real loud.

Try resetting the alarm system if it's factory it should be in your manual.

Got my hands on a manual and tried the various settings for the alarm. Got same results on the different settings options, until I set it for no horn and no flashing parking lights. On this setting the horn chirps once and no more embarrassing loud honks. I want to thank you very much for your help. Have a great day.
