Hi I've got a Pug 206,

I bought a clutch cable after my mech recommended I needed a new one, after he changed my clutch. I pulled the plastic cover off the spring mechanism (on the new cable)(which released the spring) without realising it needed to stay on until fitted to the vehicle, is there any way I can still fit the automatic cable to the car still or is it ruined now?

I have not seen this problem before, i did ask a friend with Peugeot experience and they suggested that the cable can't be re set, but, he also added that with out looking at one triggered he could not be 100% sure, i would get a mechanic to look at the cable and see if they can re set and replace the locking sleeve, keep in mind it would have to be set and locked to start with.
