My Radio/ speakers do not work

My Radio powers on and shows the display along with volume increase and decrease but no sound comes out of speakers. It used to work all the time. Then it began to be a problem intermiytently. No there is no sound all the time. Any suggestions on the cause? Has anyine had this complaint previously?

Check for ground problems to the radio. If they are good, have it checked by a stereo shop. The amp may have gone bad inside the stereo.
