noise under my feet

I feel a thump, thump, thump under my feet while driving. The steering vibrates/shakes slightly. Is this unsafe?

Check tires for uneven tread wear or shifted belts. Check all steering components. NOTE: I can't tell you if it is unsafe without knowing exactly where the problem is coming from.

turned out to be a lower control arm bushing & sway bar, thanks for the reply...appreciate it.
