2001 Oldsmobile Bravada olds Bravada over heating

So I am working on my friends 01 bravada, he recently had to have a shop drop another engine in it because his old one died. It started to overheat the other day and spew coolant from an unknown place, he also recently replaced the coolant hoses and a new thermostat, also looks like it has an aftermarket intake manifold (its all plastic so I assume it is aftermarket. When started cold it only takes it about 15 minutes to reach 3/4 of the temp gauge, I have been able to spot anywhere that is leaking but after I shut the engine off you can squeeze the upper radiator hose (which is not very hot, and doesn't feel like any pressure was built up at all) and there is visible steam coming from somewhere. I'm pretty stumped here so any help is appreciated.
