2001 Oldsmobile Aurora Tried Button Air Recycled Car Fan Came On Dash Sounded

I tried to use the button to have air recycled in the car. The fan came on but the dash sounded like it was going to explode. The fan got a very high pitch & before I turned it off it sounded like something hit it. Then dust came out of the vents. It now has a high pitch sound if I try to turn it on.

the motor has failed. replace the blower motor
