I have an alero but when I put in the car into drive (D) it goes in so hard and every gear change also hard it only happens sometimes tho I dont know how much oil the tranny has because it has no dip stick and I dont know how to check the oil level or how to add some. Also on my dash I have the trac off, service vehicle soon, service engine soon, anti lock light on why would I have so many lights on? I just did a tune up today 5/5/14 (spark plugs and oil change) so I would assume that at least the service vehicle soon light would be off any help is appreciated :)

Thanks,
Jesse

There is a trans check plug on the side of the transmission. It is checked with the engine running. NOT A FUN THING TO DO.

As far as the other issues, you need to have the computer scanned to determine where the problem is coming from.

It is filled through the check port on the side of the trans when it is running. You add until the fluid starts coming out of the check port. At that point, it is full.

I believe you are looking on the top of the trans. The check is on the side. Sorry I don't have a pic of it.
