UPPER CONTROL ARM
Removal
1. Raise and support vehicle. Remove front wheel. Remove shock absorber. Support lower control arm with a jack. Remove upper control arm-to-knuckle pinch bolt.
2. Secure steering knuckle with wire to prevent knuckle from tilting outward. Separate upper control arm from steering knuckle. Place matching marks on adjusting bolts and remove adjusting bolts. Remove upper control arm.
Note bushes seating position and mark them first.
Use hydraulic press to press out the bushes.
Install new bushes and press into position. Take care not to damage the arm while using hydraulic press.
Installation
While aligning adjusting bolts with matching marks, install upper control arm. Install shock absorber. Tighten adjusting bolts under normal load condition (fuel, radiator coolant, and engine oil full; spare tire, jack, hand tools, and mats in designated position) with tires on ground. Tighten nuts and bolts to specification. After installation, check wheel alignment. Adjust if necessary.
