I do have Nissan Elgrand 2001 model. When I bought it, it had full pulling power but around December 2010 it lost power 20-40kmp when only on hilly areas. I have tried most of the mechanics around Kampala and all have failed. Can someone help me with the right solution to this vice.

Is the Check Engine Light indicating?

Was any repairs carried out prior to this occurring?

Things to check.

1. Fuel system. Have the fuel pressure tested. Check the filter for clogging.
2. Spark plugs and related components. When were the spark plugs last replaced?
3. Is vehicle equipped with EGR system?

Hi KHLow,
Thank you for the feedback.
Check Engine light does not indicate.
Yes some repairs were carried out.

I'll give my mechanic to check the three things you suggested.

One thing I forgot is when changing from gear 1 to 2, it jumps from the former to the latter. What could be the cause.

Sorry I do not understand your question about the gear changing. The model is stated as manual transmission and this is not possible.

Can you describe the symptoms in more details?

KhLow,

There is no normal flow/change of gears esp from gear 1 to 2.

I think this gives you the pic.

Sorry, I still do not understand what you are trying to describe.

Do you mean the vehicle****** when clutch is released after engaging 2nd speed?

Does engine races when clutch is fully released?
