My brother replace my head gasket on my 2001 nissan sentra then started it and heard a loud pop and said the camshaft and rollers were broke what would cause that

If this is the case, dirty assembly and insouciant lubrication can cause this, i would have to be able to view the damage first hand to make a more probable conclusion.
